Weekly SMART Goal Setting | Accountability Check-In
The last two weeks have flown by, and I considered trying to play blog-post-catch-up, but I’ve decided to just start right where I am… so here’s one final post for 2012. I think I will leave my goals until tomorrow’s post, because right now it’s 9pm in Portland. Three more hours left to make the most of 2012 on the west coast. I will be spending it with family, pets, Hallmark holiday movies, beef sticks, and egg nog. We go big y’all.
I had hoped to finish out this year with a proverbial bang, but some nasty germs had a much different idea. I started getting sick two weeks ago, but had to finish out a week of work before an 11 day vacation and I don’t think that helped my health any, since I was surrounded by other sickies at work. Today is the first day I can breathe without coughing up a lung, and my voice is finally back… just in time to go back to work. Yay.
So I basically spent 11 glorious, work-free, do-anything-I-want days… sleeping. And that pretty much sums up my year: nothing has gone exactly as planned, but it still turned out to be exactly what I needed.
I have no great weight loss to speak of, no fitness breakthrough to recap, no huge change in career trajectory, or relationship status (single, in case you’re keeping track). No physical changes is 2012, yet emotionally it’s been my best year in over a decade, and for that I am grateful. I can wish all I want that 2012 had gone differently, but quite frankly, that would take far too much away from looking forward to the awesomeness of 2013.
